We created 'The Ladies Of the House' as a light-hearted Hugh Laurie fan site but we also have a serious purpose to raise funds and awareness for the charities Save The Children (STC) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). You will also find links to other important charities. such as the Michael J Fox Foundation and Equilibrium a foundation for bipolarism research.

We have been working for Save The Children (STC) for a couple of years now and have just begun to support NAMI. We realized our scope could be broader by adding a website as well as being on Face Book and Twitter.

For any charitable organization money is needed to fulfill their goals of helping others and that is our purpose. This site is dedicated to raising funds for these charities.

Thank you for coming to visit our 'House'.
Hugh Laurie believes in the charity organization Save The Children and so do we. His father Doctor 'William George Ranald Mundell Laurie chaired the Oxford branch of Save the Children from 1986 to 1989. Hugh also has a sister who is on the board here in the United States.

Hugh plays the keyboard with the cover band the Band From TV which donates all of the proceeds from their concerts and CD to charity with Hugh giving his share to Save The Children.

The show House MD is a supporter of NAMI and we are both members of this organization. NAMI like Ladies Of the House is a non-profit grass roots organization designed to educate and assist those who struggle with mental illnesses such as bipolarism, borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia.
They offer education for depression and other issues that many people would not consider to be mental illness.
